(More customer reviews)I purchased this camcorder in hopes of catching my son's school play on video without spending a fortune. I didn't need all the bells & whisltes--just a good, dependable camera. I know the Vivitar name and have been happy with their products in the past. What a mistake! The camera itself is very flimsy, giving hte feel of a child's toy. The camera runs on four AAA batteries. It ran for approximately 20 minutes on brand new batteries before the batteries died! When I got home after recording the play, I transferred the files to my computer. The image quality was horrendous and the sound quality was an absolute nightmare! The sound was barely audible, garbled and cut in and out. My son's solo become nothing but a mish-mash of noise. What a shame--I will never be able to recapture that moment. If you are at all tempted to buy this camera, don't, unless you want to be very disappointed. Take my advice--save up some extra money and buy a better quality camcorder. The memories you save will be worth it.
